LASER TATTOO REMOVAL & FADING

Prices from £40.00 per session

Laser treatment for tattoo removal is extremely popular and we use an advanced medical grade Quanta laser with 3 wavelengths (Ruby 694nm, ND:YAG 1064nm, and ND:YAG/KTP 532nm) to effectively remove or fade most tattoo ink colours including light blue and green. Nearly all other lasers have only 2 wavelengths (ND:YAG 1064nm, and ND:YAG/KTP 532nm) so are limited in the colours they can treat.  Having the benefit of the Ruby 694nm laser at your disposal means that we can also effectively treat light blue, green and resistant black inks. Other clinics won't tell you this before starting treatment so please be aware of the capabilities of their laser before agreeing to a course of treatment sessions.

We are fully qualified, licensed and insured to treat you safely and effectively.

How It Works.

A specific wavelength is chosen based on the colour of the tattoo ink. The laser light penetrates the skin at very high speed and has a dual effect to break up the ink particles. Due to the very high penetration speed of the laser beam, the ink particles are shattered by photo acoustic effect. When the light hits the ink there is also some heat produced to break up the ink and this is a photo thermal reaction. Due to the two reactions there is some discomfort but this is reduced as much as possible as a Zimmer cooling device is also used before, during and after the laser procedure. Tattoos naturally fade over time as white blood cells attack the ink as it recognizes it as a foreign particle in the skin, and they are flushed away via the lymphatic system. As the laser breaks down the ink into smaller particles fading is greatly accelerated as the immune system finds this process much easier. The fading process takes varying amounts of sessions based on a number of factors such as:

- Ingredients of the ink (some are more resistant than others)

- Amount of ink (cover up tattoos take longer as there a lot more ink)

- Depth of the ink

- Health of your lymphatic system (if you and / or your lymphatic system are impaired then the process will take longer). You might be fighting an infection so your body will prioritize where it's resources are most needed

- General health and medical history. If you are physically fit, have a good balanced diet, are well hydrated and have no pre-existing medical conditions then it improves your chances of a successful outcome

- Careful following of pre and post care advice
